Mini crib
A smaller-footprint crib, roughly two thirds the size of a standard crib, built for tight rooms or shared spaces.
A mini crib is a scaled-down version of a standard crib, typically around two thirds the length and width, built for nurseries, shared rooms or apartments where a full-size crib does not fit comfortably. It follows the same core safety requirements as a standard crib: fixed sides, a firm mattress sized specifically for it, and no drop-side mechanism.
Because the frame is smaller, mini cribs use their own mattress size rather than a standard crib mattress, so the two are not interchangeable, buying the wrong size mattress reintroduces a dangerous gap around the edges. Some mini crib models convert to a twin bed later or come with wheels for moving the crib between rooms, which is useful in a small-space or twin nursery setup.
The main trade-off compared to a standard crib is that a baby outgrows the usable floor space sooner, since a mini crib mattress is smaller than a standard one. Parents sometimes assume any crib mattress will work with any crib frame, which is the most common and most important mistake to avoid with this product specifically.
