Graco Dual-Comfort Crib Mattress & Protector Value Bundle (2-Pack), GREENGUARD Gold, Waterproof Review (2026)

Who this bundle is for

This is aimed squarely at parents setting up a nursery from scratch who would otherwise need to shop for a crib mattress and a separate protector as two purchases. The bundle includes a GREENGUARD Gold certified dual-comfort crib and toddler mattress along with a matching GREENGUARD Gold certified waterproof protector, so the mattress is covered against leaks from the very first night rather than being left exposed while you wait for a protector to arrive. It suits anyone who wants one box to arrive and be done with this part of the nursery checklist, rather than researching mattress and protector separately.

What is in the box

The mattress itself is the same dual-sided foam design used across Graco's crib mattress line, with a smooth firm surface for the infant stage and a softer, contoured surface for toddlers, built to fit any standard full size crib or toddler bed. It arrives fully expanded and ready to place in the crib rather than needing to unroll and off-gas for days. The mattress ships with a removable, machine washable cover with a waterproof sleep surface, and the bundle adds a second waterproof protector layer that goes over that cover, both pieces certified by GREENGUARD Gold for low chemical emissions.

Setup and everyday care

Because both the mattress cover and the added protector are waterproof, this setup is built to handle diaper blowouts, spit up, and night sweats without soaking through to the foam core, which is the main reason parents add a protector in the first place. The mattress cover machine washes on a cold, delicate cycle and should be hung to dry rather than tumble dried, and the separate protector can typically be wiped down or washed on its own schedule, so you are not stripping the whole mattress every time there is a spill. Having a spare protector layer also means less laundry urgency during a middle of the night mess.

Value against buying pieces separately

Against its closest sibling, the standalone Graco 6-Inch Dual-Comfort mattress without a protector, this bundle earns a full 10 out of 10 on value in our scoring because it packages two purchases into one without a meaningful price penalty. The trade-off is that you are tied to Graco's own protector rather than pairing the mattress with a preferred brand of protector pad, and the mattress itself is still a solid foam core rather than the breathable, washable layered design used by pricier rivals such as the Newton Baby Crib Mattress. For families who are not particular about protector brand, that is an easy trade to accept.

Verdict and who should look elsewhere

This bundle is a smart first purchase for a nursery because it removes a whole shopping decision and gets a certified, waterproof-covered mattress protected from day one at a strong value. Parents who already own a mattress protector they like, or who want a breathable core mattress instead of foam for a hot sleeper, should skip the bundle and buy the mattress on its own or choose a different mattress line entirely. For everyone else outfitting a crib for the first time, the combination of certifications, dual-sided design, and included protector makes this an efficient, low-hassle way to check two nursery shopping list items off at once before the baby arrives.
