# Best Baby Blankets for Cozy, Safe Comfort (2026) Source: https://nurserysetupnest.com/best/baby-blankets Updated: 2026-09-14 Publisher: Nursery Setup Nest. Our score is an editorial rating out of 10 (fit 35%, features 25%, build 20%, value 20%), not a customer rating. Method: https://nurserysetupnest.com/how-we-research#our-score Baby blankets come in several types, and matching the blanket to its use keeps your baby both cozy and safe. Breathable muslin swaddles suit newborns, wearable sleep sacks provide warmth in the crib without loose fabric, and soft receiving or stroller blankets work for supervised outings and floor play. Look for gentle, breathable fabrics, secure stitching, and a weight suited to your climate, avoiding anything too heavy or fuzzy for an infant. Blankets suit every stage when used appropriately, and a sleep sack is the safest choice for warmth during sleep. A practical tip: keep loose blankets out of the crib for babies under a year, since they raise the suffocation risk, and use a wearable sleep sack instead for nighttime warmth. Save plush throws and quilts for supervised tummy time, strollers, and photos, and dress your baby in layers rather than piling on bedding. ## Picks ### 1. aden + anais Boutique Organic Swaddle Blanket 4-Pack, 100% Organic Cotton Muslin, Large, Above The Clouds Our score: 8.8/10 (Fit for the job 9/10 · Features and specs 9/10 · Build and materials 9/10 · Value 8/10) aden + anais Boutique organic swaddle blanket 4-pack in Above The Clouds, large 100% organic cotton muslin.
